It is an all-solid-state stand-alone Digital to Analog Converter, designed for those dedicated music lovers who appreciate natural, digital-glare-free, live-like tonal balance, without sacrificing extension and dynamics. The DAC-S delivers pure, analog-like, fatigue-free music enjoyment that will make you go through your entire favorite music collection again.
Just like all of our products, the DAC-S is an-all-hand-made boutique with point-to-point wiring using only solid core Copper wire, OFC for the signal path. All boards are hand-poplulated, no machines are used.

· Asynchronous Hiface USB interface by M2Tech built-in with192kHz/24bit resolution
· Low noise linear power supplies for the USB interface eliminate the original charge pumps (switching power supplies) and the computer USB bus power
· Asynchronous upsampling working steady at 195kHz/32bit.The AKM DACs see this sample rate at all times, regardless of the input sample rate
· Very low jitter Master Clock oscillators rated at 2pS or less jitter
· Second generation, top-line 32bit AK4399 DACs by AKM of Japan; 12 per channel for much reduced noise floor, working in Mono mode for up to 10dB better channel separation
The AKM DACs are used in a "special mode" we have developed, resulting in significantly improved sound quality compared to conventional designs using the same AK4399 device
· No negative feedback, linear phase, transformer-coupled Analog output stage featuring Lundahl Amorphous Core audio transformers and high-current output buffers
· No capacitors on the signal path
· No Op Amps
· Attenuator control with 0.5dB step. No preamp required.Please note that, unlike most digital attenuators available, the one built inside the AKM DACs is not inside the digital filter.
This greatly reduces the usual negative effects of severe data truncation associated with digital attenuation
· Attenuator level memory function for each digital input. The last volume setting is memorized even when the power is turned off
· LCD display with blue back light, four dimming steps and OFF mode

Both RCA and XLR outputs can be used simultaneously. The high-current output stage has around 10 Ohms output impedance and can drive any interconnect cable and power amplifier available, as well as most dynamic headphones direct. Since there is no headphone jack installed, appropriate RCA or XLR adaptor is required, depending on the headphones used.
