Those Hunts caps are notorious for drifting, but amazingly they tested qt less than 5% drift. I bin them anyway.... I dont know if its blasphemy, but im a guitarist, so thats how i tested it. Its just amazing. And the tube set that came with it still sound amazing! Here are a couple pics

That picture was taken before i replaced 95% of the components. The problem turned out to be the cathode resistors, as their value was too low. At 160ohm i had 25V drop, for 78mA current per tube, with 428V on the plates, for 33W dissipation!!! I bumped them up to 220ohm and im now at a bit...

The output transformer?

I have replaced 95% of components and the PA works and its very quiet, but two EL34 are red plating. Just ordered two 10W 200Ohm cathode resistors to see if i can bring the current down. Thank you for the link! By the way, yours is running EL34 too? This are the pics from mine Marco
