The service Grt Hits E Yorks has returned to Mono at 80 kbit/s in "original-flavour" DAB from 128 kbit/s Joint Stereo since the previous observation, the same state it was in a couple of months ago.

The UK regulator has revoked the "small-scale" licence for Yorkshire Coast that had been awarded to East Coast Digital Radio CIC. The operator had informed the regulator that it no longer intends to launch the service, saying it believes the project is no longer financially viable, with the size of the licensed area requiring multiple transmission sites and what it perceives to be a change in the likely level of demand. Ofcom may consider re-advertising the area should it receive expressions of interest, but notes that ECDR was the sole applicant. Comments regarding the size of the area to be re-advertised as well as on the timing.

Sound Bay had informed the regulator that it no longer intends to launch the service, citing significantly increased transmission and utilities costs since the licence was awarded. Ofcom may consider re-advertising the area should it receive expressions of interest, but notes that Sound Bay was the sole applicant. Comments regarding the size of the area to be re-advertised as well as on the timing.
