V-DAC II Features
- Lower noise
- Better linearity
- Ruler flat frequency response
- Excellent stereo separation
- Ultra low distortion (0.002% from 20Hz - 20kHz)
- Incredibly low jitter
- Asychronous USB input
As per the original, the V-DAC II is powered by a 12V DC power supply and features a 24-bit 192k DAC (digital to analogue converter), offering true upsampling, along with flexible inputs for all of your digital sources, with Coax, Optical and USB digital inputs, along with standard stereo RCA outputs.
The technical performance of the V-DAC II is in a word sensational. There is no magic or hocus pocus here, nor is this simply clever marketing. Musical Fidelity offers this high level of performance simply by using state-of-the-art digital components, circuitry and layout, along with no additional expenditure on over the top packaging or other wastage. It's basically like a fine tuned racing car - functional with no excess weight/expense!
Why use a V-DAC II?
V-DAC II will improve the sound of your digital sources when connected inbetween source and amplifier. Connect the digital output from your PC, Mac, Blu Ray Player, CD player or any other digital source to the V-DAC and it's state-of-the-art design will convert the digital sound to analogue for your amp.
Why use this if your digital source already has it's own DAC built in? Two reasons. Firstly, the DAC in your CD player for example is part of a much larger component, made to a specific budget and as such it's DAC is unlikely to be optimised for the level of performance of the V-DAC II. Secondly, the V-DAC II upsamples your digital source (for example, upsampling the standard CD 44k to 192k) and as a result can make your digital source sound much smoother and as a result more lifelike.
