Lurte på om 6N23P ville fungere i HA10SE. Linker svaret:
Hi Carl, the input caps I use are a very high quality metallised polypropylene type, made by Solen - I did try the HA10SE with and without the caps when I was first developing the prototype, and there was no loss of quality when the caps were in place. The soundstage did sound better and more '3-D' with the caps in place, so I know what you mean by your comment re. the PSII caps. My advice is that the amp is best left with the caps in place - the amp was designed with these specific caps in mind, so the caps form part of the HA10SE's individual sonic signature. But if you prefer, I can remove them and replace them with a wire link.
I have checked the specifications of the 6n23p valve, and they look like they should be compatible with the HA10SE. The main concern was the heater current - I know that several Russian valves need 600mA of heater current, the HA10SE only works with valves needing between 300 and 360mA of current.
Regards
Sean.
