Ditt valg. Men så snart statsminister Boris har installert Nigel Farage som ambassadør i Washington ordner alt seg, skal dere se.Britain has failed to make meaningful progress towards a free trade deal with the United States amid “chronic” staffing shortages and communication breakdowns in Whitehall, according to a cache of documents seen by The Telegraph.
Details of meetings spanning two years show how overstretched departments have been working “at cross purposes” as transatlantic talks have repeatedly stumbled over politically sensitive topics such as rules on health, farming and the finance industry.
Officials have begun to fear that American frustration with the lack of agreement or even partial agreement could end hopes of a post-Brexit partnership envisaged at the centre of a “global Britain” trade strategy.
Er litt forvirret her...
Problem solved.
A motion of no confidence is passed in Her Majesty's Government by a simple majority and 14 days elapses without the House passing a confidence motion in any new Government formed
A motion for a general election is agreed by two thirds of the total number of seats in the Commons including vacant seats (currently 434 out of 650)
https://www.theguardian.com/politic...dismisses-desperate-uk-hopes-of-us-trade-dealBoris Johnson could simply ignore a parliamentary vote of no confidence and proceed with a no-deal Brexit followed by an election, unless MPs can form an alternative government in 14 days, a former senior judge has said.
Lord Jonathan Sumption, a former supreme court judge, said Johnson would be entitled to stay on as the prime minister even if he lost a confidence vote.
Under the law, MPs would have two weeks to create an alternative government before an election was automatically triggered.
In those circumstances, the prime minister would have the power to set the date of the election for after 31 October, following the UK’s departure from the EU with or without a deal.
The former US treasury secretary Larry Summers has said he does not believe that a “desperate” UK would manage to secure a post-Brexit trade deal with Washington, as Dominic Raab, the new foreign secretary, heads to the US to scope out the potential for such an agreement.
Summers, who was a senior official under Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, said the UK was in a weak position when it came to negotiating with trade partners.
He told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Tuesday: “Britain has no leverage, Britain is desperate … it needs an agreement very soon. When you have a desperate partner, that’s when you strike the hardest bargain.”

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/08/06/business/dominos-stockpiling-ingredients-gbr-intl-scli/index.htmlA leading voice in the UK food industry has called for a temporary pause of competition law to allow firms to work with each other in order to ensure supplies in the event of a “no-deal” Brexit.
Food and Drinks Federation boss Tim Rycroft told the BBC Wednesday that leaving the European Union (EU) without a plan could cause months of disruption in the British food supply chain.
Fycroft told the “Today” program that in the event of a no-deal, there would be “selective shortages” of food that could go on for “weeks or months.”
The chief operating officer added that he expected food suppliers to be told by the government to coordinate with each other to ensure continuous supply but warned that any such direction would be against rules set down by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
“We’re happy to help, but the CMA can fine companies up to 10% of turnover if they are guilty of anti-competitive behaviour. So, we wouldn’t be able to do that without some pretty cast iron reassurances,” he said.
Pizza chain Domino's has spent £7 million ($8.5 million) to stockpile imported ingredients that might not be available if Britain crashes out of the European Union.
The UK arm of the American fast food company said in an earnings statement on Tuesday that a disorderly Brexit "carries the increased risk of disruption to raw material supplies."
The company imports about a third of its supplies from outside Britain including tomato sauce, frozen chicken, pineapple and tuna.
Fears of a disorderly break have increased after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson doubled down on his threat to leave the European Union on October 31 even without a deal in place to protect trade.
Business groups representing the food and beverage industry have cautioned that that shortages would be caused by disruption to supply chains and long lines at the border.
Many companies have been stockpiling for months. Some have even warned that Britain was running out of frozen and chilled storage to hold the excess supplies.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/aug/13/brexit-government-orwellian-ministry-of-truthBaker wrote a shirty letter to Barclay, “as a loyal Tory voter all my life”. He invited him to “try filling out the following form which is the government’s ‘easy path to exporting to Norway’. It’s time consuming, HMRC is unhelpful and it costs a fortune to get the paperwork done. If this is your best model for Brexit try it yourself and then maybe even you and your Brexiters will think again.”
Calico Cottage already exports to Norway: if that’s the government’s best model for a future EU free-trade agreement, it’s no substitute for the single market. “You have to fill out a paper form in triplicate with carbon copies, nothing online.”
Brexit is already affecting Baker’s business as, short of warehousing, he tries to get all the Christmas orders out of the country and raw materials in before 31 October. Worse, prices are so unpredictable that suppliers such Tate & Lyle refuse to sign a fixed contract for sugar, so are free to cancel at any time.
