MARS-ROBOT SENDER TILBAKE SIN FØRSTE STEINPRØVE

Nasas nyeste Mars-robot, Perseverance-roveren, har nå lyktes i å hente inn sin første steinprøve som skal sendes tilbake til jorden.
For en måned siden klarte ikke roboten Perseverance å hente inn en prøve. Den boret inn i mye mykere stein, men steinen gikk i oppløsning før den kom inn i titaniumstuben i boret.
Denne gangen kjørte roboten noen hundre meter til et sted der grunnen er hardere. Robotens sjefingeniør Adam Stelzner kaller prøven et perfekt eksemplar.
– Jeg har aldri vært så glad for å se et hull i en stein, skriver han på Twitter.
Prøven skal etter planen hentes på Mars og fraktes tilbake til jorden av senere ekspedisjoner.
Perseverances oppdrag er å lete etter tegn til eldgammelt liv på Mars. (NTB)
