Hei noen som har erfaring med Accuphase E 5000 bruker E 800 nå
Polske highfidelity sier noe om dette. Her noen sitater:
"THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, which cannot be omitted in the case of the tested amplifier,
is its five-digit designation. It might seem that this is just another change in naming. However, this is not the case, it is a sign of a generation change. You see, historically, all Accuphase power amplifiers and preamplifiers used to have three-digit designations. Four-digit were worn by preamplifiers and power amplifiers. The E-5000 was the first integrated amplifier in the company's history to receive it when the engineers decided they had something radically better in their hands than what they had designed before. The E-5000 is, in fact, a combination of the C-3800 preamplifier and the P-7300 power amplifier, additionally with solutions from the latest devices of this company.
And since we have mentioned the A-800, it seems reasonable to ask:
why does the manufacturer need two, quite similar amplifiers, costing similar money, differing only in the current of the base of the final transistors, i.e. the total power given off in class A ("800") and AB ("5000"). The answer is simple, as the stereotype about the performance classes of power amplifiers is one of the strongest in the audio world: the company wanted to offer a different sound for different audiences.
However, when you consider that Accuphase is an engineering company that measures first and listens later, the matter becomes obscure – both devices measure almost exactly the same. So perhaps on the one hand it is true to appeal to the tastes of various audiophiles, but on the other hand it was probably about
the possibility of matching the amplifier to your speakers and room.
Accuphase's Class AB amplifiers have a different sound than Class A amplifiers. But
they are different in a different way than the stereotype says. The E-800, although also very dense, focused on timbre, etc., sounded more "direct", was more open and focused on detail. The E-5000, on the other hand, takes us to a completely different world. It creates a warm, saturated message with tangible virtual sources. I'd say it's close to the sound of a gramophone record. Its high power and low output impedance give you fantastic control over your speakers. Smaller amplifiers don't control the Harbeth M40.1 as well.
The E-5000 IS THE BEST CLASS AB integrated amplifier I've heard. It is, truth be told, on the same level as the E-800. However, it is so different that
both models will find their supporters. However, in order to decide which one is for us, we would have to put them next to each other and think carefully.
The tested amplifier
offers brilliant control over the speakers. This results in a big, powerful and dense sound with a warm character. It's a sound freed from the compulsion to prove anything. Its timbre is reminiscent of the sound of a large part of classic tube amplifiers with 300B triodes. It's hard to catch him in any kind of misconduct and I won't try to do it because it's a waste of time. An excellent device, in every way, a device with an almost hypnotic sound. ˻ RED Fingerprint ˺."
