"AFR AI D"
The Riverside and Lunatic Soul mastermind Mariusz Duda's 2023 solo album explores the concept of AI as disruptor and looks at the growing commodification of AI (as artificial intelligence enters the mainstream).
Using the notion of ChatGPT and Midjourney and the increasing use of deep fakes as a springboard, AFR AI D explores these forward thinking theories musically just as much as it does conceptually.
In a world where truth is often camouflaged by deception the electronic heartbeat of AFR AI D can never lie. Or can it?
Regular collaborator Hajo Müller (Steven Wilson) is once again responsible for the artwork
Mariusz performs all the instruments throughout the album with the exception of the guitar solos (by Mateusz Owczarek of Lion Shepherd).
AFR AI D was recorded throughout May and June 2023 at Serakos Studio in Warszawa, with engineering by Magda and Robert Srzedniccy and mastered by Robert Szydło.

"lockdown spaces"
Previously only available digitally via Bandcamp and within the Lockdown Trilogy CD boxset, Lockdown Spaces is now available on vinyl.
Recorded during a two week period in June 2020 at Serakos Studio, Warszawa, this contains some of Mariusz Duda’s darkest and most intimate work to date.
“The music is inspired, as the title suggests, by life in quarantine. It's a dark, minimalist, claustrophobic album, which came to my mind during recording sessions for Lunatic Soul. I decided that in order to intensify the "lockdown effect" I will play only electronic instruments here, with an addition of samples and voice.” - Mariusz Duda
"Claustrophobic Universe"
Claustrophobic Universe is the second vinyl release from Mariusz Duda’s The Lockdown Trilogy.
Recalling Duda’s earliest influences - Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Tangerine Dream - the wholly instrumental trilogy was created as a means of Duda reconnecting with his younger self and coping with the stresses and strains of the global pandemic of 2020/2021.

The final release in Mariusz Duda’s The Lockdown Trilogy is the first to receive a vinyl issue.

In 2020, Polish Prog multi-instrumentalist Mariusz Duda (Riverside, Lunatic Soul) decided to conduct an experiment. He set out to create a third music world, independent of his band, Riverside, and solo project, Lunatic Soul. A world which would differ stylistically from the previous two, and underline the first steps he took in music.
30 years ago, a certain shy boy fascinated by the works of Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, or Tangerine Dream, locked himself up in his room and started to think up his original music stories. He recorded them on cassette tapes, created covers for them, and arranged them on the shelf next to those of his masters. 30 years later, when the world was taken over by a pandemic and an international lockdown, Mariusz was beamed back to his childhood bedroom, where he was reading and drawing comic books, playing games, listening to lots of music from cassette tapes... and recording his own electronic sounds. "Why not do it again?" he thought to myself, feeling inspired. "Why not create a new project where I will play only the keyboards? And why not sign it just like I used to when I was a kid? Simply 'Mariusz Duda'".

...Accuphase er en sjelden blomst i pu faunaen....hadde en pre-order på Accuphase riaa C-47 men omgjorde ordren underveis, det ville dratt for langt og kostbart totalt i kjeden mot hva jeg var villig til...så det ble noe annet Accuphase istedenfor, som en brun rca kabel, nyere riaa kort og pick upen samt Ikeda headshellet...hvor dette tar meg har jeg ikke bestemt meg for ennå, muligens lar jeg det gå videre (pick up/headshell).
