I predicted in my last post that the bill would fail. I predicted the day he became president-elect that he would not replace Obamacare. But I didn't think it would be the Freedom Caucus that yanked it away but I don't care either. I'm just happy it failed. Now Trump is pulling some crap that Obamacare is failing and the dems will run to him to fix it. Well, they might. But guess what, Mr. Trump? You WILL try to fix it. Go ahead and stand there and let it fail without lifting a finger and watch what happens to you and your party. The party will be over.
This was a major, major setback for Trump-Ryan. Every president I can remember ALWAYS got his first legislation through Congress. It's that moment when you show the world you hold the power and you are THE man. This time Congress said no you ain't, son, in no uncertain terms! By doing that, Congress has effectively neutered the Trump presidency. It is now officially irrelevant. And don't think Congress didn't know what they just did. They were showing Trump that they will not be threatened or intimidated and that they are not the slightest bit afraid of him or Ryan. Trump destroyed his big weapon--Twitter. Everybody was afraid of his Twitter rants which shook stock markets and rattled international relations. No one wanted a Trump tweet fired at them. But since he destroyed himself hurling baseless accusations at Obama, the points on his tweets have been blunted and no longer stick. Congress is saying, "Tweet away, Mr. President. We don't give a damn!" China is probably laughing itself silly.
Even assuming Trump gets out of the Russian collusion thing unscathed (and I don't see that happening), he is now a four-year president at best. The Freedom Caucus basically told him yesterday, "We don't want you for another four years. Just go away." And go away he will.
He keeps attacking the democrats!! It was YOUR party, Trump, that screwed you! YOUR party. They don't want you, they don't like you. If he was smart, Trump would make nice with the dems and try to get them as allies because the Freedom Caucus has shown him what they think of him and they don't compromise--you do it their way or there is no deal. The dems might bend for him if he bends for them and he might rescue his presidency in the process. He's just made his tax reform plans a lot harder to achieve also. He needs democratic allies. But he's stupid and won't learn anything from this. He'll keep attacking the dems until they'll completely close off all doors to him and let him sink.
Still think being president would be all fun and games, Trump? Still think you are going to show them all how it's done? Still think you're the master deal-maker? And get used to losing, bubba, because you're only getting started.
Strangely, all Trump really had to do was float Obamacare solutions around Congress and see if one lands and THEN craft a replacement and call for a vote. It was insane to push for a plan this fast and rush to get a vote. Mr. Deal-maker fell flat on his face. Ouch! He really thought he had this thing under control when he didn't even know what was in the bill! The bill virtually undid every promise he made to the public about a new healthcare plan that would be affordable and everybody would be covered. In a way, Congress did him a favor by killing it because it would have killed him and it would have killed any congressperson who voted for it. The Freedom Caucus may be just a bunch of stupid, pigheaded dipsticks but who could blame them for rejecting that plan. It was terrible. Virtually everyone in the healthcare industry agreed it was utterly terrible and should not be passed under any circumstances.
Som sagt " Like House of Cards only with stupid people".
