Yes, we too, were very unhappy with the Japanese release. Our new mix and mastering of Reunion is done the right way (the way we originally wanted it to sound) and I know you will appreciate hearing Seawind's musical performances the way they were meant to be heard. In all fairness to Bernie Becker, it was really SONY's insistence on us meeting their release deadline that rushed us into sending them something that we were not happy with. After touring Japan, on the success of the release there, we returned to the US and remixed, re-sequenced and re-mastered the project the right way!
Takin It to the Streets marks a high point in the Doobie Brothers career. The mellowed-out 1976 album is heavily influenced by the contributions of former Steely Dan members Jeff Baxter and Michael McDonald. The latter are responsible for an increase in soulful melodies and Latin-fused rhythms, which help make Takin It to the Streets among the most enjoyably chill recordings of the era. Sonic charms are everywhere, particularly on the joyful title cut, an example of the bands conscious embrace of R&B foundations and gospel accents. This is music designed for celebrating, relaxing, and romancing.
A very good piece of news: Michael Ruff is going to release a new CD called "Acoustic Trios" in June 2010. This new album features pian, double bass and drums. A list of new songs, old favorites and some very special vocal performances by Olivia Ruff, Michael Ruff's daughter and the presence of the Jazz duet Trey and Sara Thompson (TreySara). At first, you will be able to get this CD at Michael Ruff concerts.
I can see that in a few years that State Cows might become a closet classic among West Coast fans, such is its positioning next to the likes of the aforementioned Airplay, Marc Jordan, David Roberts, Nielsen Pearson and Pages. Though there are only a handful of guitar solos, the remainder is made up of synth and sax solos, giving the CD a bit of variety. It looks as if much care and attention to detail has been applied to this album, and if you've been acquiring a ton of 70's and 80's West Coast material from around the Net, then think about adding a 2010 addition to your CD collection. West Coast fans should aim their credit cards at your nearest CD retailer without hesitation. Along with Shining Line, another fantastic release for Avenue Of Allies!
After releasing the album "Days in L.A." to rave reviews in 2008, Daniel Andersson and collaborator Stefan Olofsson decided to embark on a full-fledged, no-compromise Westcoast/AOR project. The project eventually turned into the band STATE COWS and an upcoming album of brand new songs.

Kere Buchanan - Starting Over
Kere Buchanan is best known as a drummers drummer having played with a whos who of great Australian artists including Tina Arena and Marcia Hines. Kere is also widely acknowledged as the leader of groups such as The Bodacious Cowboys and Kerosene. Perhaps less well known is the fact that Kere is also an enormously talented producer & arranger, writer and pianist.
??His new album "Starting Over" is aptly named as he introduces his audience to a dynamic new phase of his career. His collaboration with the towering talents of people like Steve Clisby, Geoff Robertson, Glenn Bidmead, Michelle Martinez and Kimi, provides a sublime edge to the R&B, Jazz and Blues genre that such a vocal line-up would suggest.
The musicians on "Starting Over" have been meticulously hand picked by Buchanan from his endless industry wide associations, and the result, is a sound that is instrumentally "exact" to accompany the lyrical journey from start to finish right across the album highlighting the compositions of Buchanan, Clisby and Bidmead. ??
Join Kere Buchanan and a stunning line up of some sixteen brilliant artists as he launches Starting Over at The Basement in what promises to be an inspiring night of truly creative music.
Dersom det lamme ikke kan gå etter denne, vet ikke jeg.
Killer plate av en annen verden ;D

Smooth Reunion - Cleaning Up The Business [ZMCD 006]
mvh

Songwriter Tom Hansen is based in the city Tønsberg located 10 miles south of the Norwegian capital city Oslo. On his debut album "Brazilian Night" Tom Hansen has been working with 6 different arrangers, all with inspiration from artists like David Foster, Jay Graydon, Chaka Khan, Mezzoforte, Larry Carlton, Shakatak, as Tom are saying "all arrangers has been raised up with David Foster and has been playing Through The Fire many times", so you can really hear this at the album.
On "Brazilian Night" the vocalist Victor Brooks and musicians from Lava and other great Norwegian studio musicians are featured at the album.
This is the only one solo album of Steve Kipner, known for tons of his excellent songwritings such as "Niagara Falls", "She Would Have Been Faithful" performed by Chicago on the album "Chicago 18" and/or "Physical" performed by Olivia Newton John. Except only one tracks, you can enjoy Jay Graydon's awesome producing works featuring Jay's wonderful guitar plays. Jeff Porcaro and David Hungate, rhythm section keeps this record alive! Peter Beckett of Player appears on this album, which may lead Steve Kipner to make albums with Peter as the duo unit "Think Out Loud" afterwards. This album may be really the first one you should buy if you should not have this as yet.
Bugatti & Musker are known as the UK songwriter team for their smash hit such as "Modern Girl" performed by Sheena Easton in 1982. "Every Woman In The World" performed by Air Supply was ranked # 5 on US Single Chart in 1980. Patti Austin performed "Every Home Should Have One" in 1981 as the title track of her album. In 1981, Chaka Kahn performed "Fate" which was included on Bugatti & Musker's own album afterwards. This is the only one commercial release album of this melody-maker team, one of the eternal masterpiece album. This is their one and only own album fully supported by Westcoast Musicians.

Bi-Coastal is an album released in 1980 by Australian singer and songwriter Peter Allen. The album is Allen's most successful and was produced by David Foster who also wrote many of its songs. The hit "Fly Away", originally by Japanese artist Mariya Takeuchi, was co-written by Foster and Carole Bayer Sager. The title tune co-written by Foster and Tom Keane is said to be about Allen's sexuality but actually referred to the fact that he divided his time between the two coasts of the United States.
"Fly Away" peaked at #55 on the Billboard 200 charts and was his only North American hit as a singer. The album has become a classic with lovers of west coast pop music not because of the songs but for the use of musicians like Toto, Steve Lukather, Jay Graydon and others.

Christopher Cross - Another Page [9 23757-2]
This is Christopher Corss's 2nd album released 3 years after his sensational debut album. Some thoughtless people said he could never release more excellent album than his debut album, but Christopher had revealed his talent as a singer and a songwriter to everyone by releasing this album with support of many talented Westcoast musicians.

Samuel Purdey has suddenly appeared in fornt of me. They are said to be the true succesor of Steely Dan and on this album we can confirm that their music is heavily influenced by that of Steely Dan. You can find the musicians name closely related to Steely Dan's recording works on this album. One man is Elliot Randall on guitar and the other is Frank Floyd on backing vocals. And 5 tunes of this recording works are mixed by Elliot Scheiner also known for his mixing works with Steely Dan. Their sounds is a kind of the alternative approach of Steely Dan if Donald Fagen and Walter Becker were young in late 90's. So, their music has Acid-Jazz taste too. If you like Steely Dan's early days works, it might be worth listening.
David Garfield & Friends - "Tribute To Jeff" Revisited [CREATCHY 019]
A fresh look at a classic musical collaboration of over 78 world-class musicians and artists paying tribute to the late great drummer Jeff Porcaro. This new remastered cd includes a couple of new vocal versions of tracks that were originally instrumental on the original release, as well as a couple of bonus tracks and surprises!Jeff Porcaro was adored by fans all over the world, and sought out by the very best musicians and artists in the music business. He had a rich, full life cut short long before its time. Jeff not only achieved extraordinary success as a musician, but as a human being as well. Porcaro, drummer nonpareil, multiple Grammy winner with the band Toto and one of the Los Angeles music scene's brightest guiding spirits for two decades, passed away thirteen years ago, but his extraordinary musical soul is alive and in full groove thanks to all of his friends and fans, colleagues and protégés.
Covering an amazingly wide ranging cross section of the genres and styles that inspired, shaped and defined Porcaro's career, Tribute to Jeff by David Garfield and Friends is a grand statement in the Quincy Jones "cast of thousands" tradition and an incredible feat both musically and logistically. Not to mention, great entertainment. But at the core of its diversity and passion lies a labor of love for all the musicians involved, an opportunity for them to laugh and cry and remember the man who set the standard and enriched all of their lives.
This album was released in 1980 produced by Bill Schnee after two of his great hit albums produced by John Wissert "Silk Degrees" (1976) and "Down To The Left" (1977).
In addition to Toto members such as Steve Lukather and Jeff Porcaro who played on abovementioned 2 former albums, David Foster made a great role in this album not only as a keyboard player but also as co-songwriter with Boz.
Drums: Jeff Porcaro, Rick Marotta, John Vitale Bass: David Hungate, John Pierce Guitar: Steve Lukather, Ray Parker Jr., Carlos Santana Synthesizer: David Paich Keyboards: David Foster Piano: Don Grolnick Sax: Adrian Tapia Clarinet: James Newton-Howard Background Vocals: David Lasley, Sharon Redd, Charlotte Crossley, Venetta Fields, Paulette Brown, Bili Thedford, Julia Tillman Waters, Oren waters, Bill Champlin, Charles Irwin, Rosemary Butler
